The Norwegian delegation visit Minhaj Reconciliation Council Kharian

On 6th October 2011, Hege Hoiland (Director, Integration and Diversity, Oslo Norway) and Ms. Vivien Wrede Holm (Special Advisor, Social Affairs Royal Norwegian Embassy Islamabad) visited the office of Minhaj Reconciliation Council Kharian. They were welcomed by Mr. Sohail Ahmad Raza (Director Interfaith Relations and MRC, Pakistan), Mr. Shafqat Hussain Awan (General Secretary Minhaj Reconciliation Council Kharian), Mr. Tariq Hussain Mirza (Senior Executive Member) and Ms. Shabana Malik (Lady Councilor).

The Norwegian delegation was here to know about the progress of the office and to meet local ladies and be aware of their problems. MRC Kharian had arranged a large group of ladies belonging to different walks of life including three respected lady advocates. The guests held detailed discussions on the problems with local women and were pleased to know that MRC Kharian was playing an active role to help them in these situations. They appreciated efforts of MRC Kharian in reaching out to women besides doing its original work of conflict resolution among the families. Mr. Shafqat Hussain (General Secretary MRC Kharian) presented a three-month report to the guests.

Mr. Sohail Ahmad Raza (Director) answered some queries raised by the guests. At the end the worthy guests and all particepants were served with a lavish lunch at Usmania Restaurant Kharian.
