Celebrating the Night of al-Qadr

HUNDREDS of people gathered at the Minhaj ul Quran International centre in London on Thursday 16th September 2009 to celebrate the night of Laylat al-Qadr – Night of Power. The night is celebrated by Muslims throughout the world and is regarded as a sacred night.

Minhaj Youth Delegation visits Gurdwara

The Faithful Friends Youth group was set up by Newhams Voluntary Network Centre (VNC). The event began with a tour of Neville Road Gurdwara in East Ham. Everyone was asked to cover their heads in the main prayer hall out of respect. The photo below is of the location where the holy book of the Sikh faith is kept.

Minhaj-ul-Qur’an Students visit St Johns Church

Students at Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London visited St Johns Church in Stratford (East London) as part of their interfaith work with the Faithful Friends organisation. The first visit of this project was to Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London itself. At St Johns Church, some photos were displayed using a projector screen with the attendees being asked how important they were to them in their daily lives and whether they held any religious importance.

Defibrillator Training Arranged at MQI London

Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International organised just such training in partnership with the NHS on 21st July 09. The training included usage of a Defibrillator, CPR (which forms part of basic 1st Aid) and general background knowledge to cardiac arrest. Members of the Minhaj executives, Womens League, Youth League Brothers and Sister participated in the training.

Newham safer transport team visit to MQI centre during Ramadan

Officers from the Newham Safer Transport Team visited the Minhaj Ul Quran Mosque during the Holy time of Ramadan. This was an opportunity for the officers to celebrate with the local community who were breaking their fast.

MQI (NEC) UK & MSF hold Meeting with Nazim-e-A’ala Dr Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi

The proceedings of the meeting got under way with recitation from the Holy Quran, followed by recitation of Qaseeda Burda Sharif. In his opening remarks, Tahir Mohammed (Secretary General, MQI (NEC) UK) welcomed the guests to the meeting and thanked for their whole hearted efforts and support.

Gauth-ul-Azam Conference, Victoria Park Mosque Manchester

Rarely does a single event become a defining one for a particular Mosque or city, one that becomes a form of identity for its venue. Yet the Gauth-ul-Azam Conference held at Manchester Central Mosque (Victoria Park), on Sunday 2nd August 2009 was certainly that for many reasons. First and foremost being that it was blessed by the presence of one of the highest authorities in the Muslim world in terms of Islamic learning and also one of the highest spiritual personalities and Sufis of the time, that being non other than Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.

Crowds gather to hear scholar of massive erudition speak: A message of peace and integration

Erudite scholar Dr Muhammad Tahir al-Qadri told listeners gathered that "We are commanded (by religion) to become fountains of peace, security, love, tolerance and generosity.

New Initiative: MYL UK Road Show

MQI-Glasgow's Halaqa-e-Durood o Salam April 2009

Minhaj-ul-Quran International (Glasgow) held their second Halqa Durood o Salam in their new centre. The programme commenced with Recitation of Qur'an by Hafiz Sajid Mahmood Sahib a followed by Na'at Sharif by Muhammad Waheed Raza and Qaseeda Burda Sharif in traditional Arabic style by Shaykh Muhammad Abbas Somali.

Mawlid Festive Celebrations at Walthamstow Assembly Hall

THOUSANDS of Muslims visited the Waltham Forest Town Hall on Forest Road on Saturday, 28th of March 2009, for a prestigious celebration to mark the birth anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The festival is celebrated by millions of Muslims around the world via recitation of Naat and programmes of Mawlid-un-Nabi (SAW). The festival is a national holiday in Syria, Libya, Egypt, Morocco and Pakistan among other countries.

International Day of Faith & Culture

Minhaj-ul-Qur’an International London was invited to represent Islam at the International Day of Faith and Culture held at Penrose Community Centre, Islington in London on 24th March 2009. A stall was arranged where literature and books were put on display for people to take for free. Attendees visited the stall with keen interest to learn more and seek awareness on issues related to a faith which is greatly misunderstood in the West.

Unique celebration marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad at the House of Commons UK

MEMBERS of the Newham based Minhaj-ul-Quran international organisation along with members of other Muslim organisations and institutions under the umbrella of the Sufi Muslim Council joined in a unique celebration at the UK House of Commons to mark the 1429th birthday anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (S.A.W). The celebration was held on Wednesday 1st April 2009 at the heart of London’s political establishment in Westminster.

International conference: Islam on Peace, Integration and Human Rights

Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri Meets British Department of Communities and Local Government

Minhaj Welfare Foundation UK Helps the Victims of Gaza

The Mawlid Festival: Remembering the Beloved Prophet (SAW)

Inauguration of MQI Glasgow centre and Welcoming of Rabi-ul-Awwal
