High level Norwegian delegation visits MQI Secretariat

A five member delegation of religious leaders of Norway, headed by Pastor Trygve Brekke,the head of International Relations, and other members, Reidun Kristoffersen, Barbro Brekke, Arnold Kristoffersen, and Arve Odegard visited Main Secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on 28th November, 2011 at 11.30 am. The delegation was accompanied by Dr Marqus Fida (chairman of International Gospel Mission), Mr. Suleman Amant, Mr. Javed Akhtar and Mr. Nadeem Sadiq.

MQI Leaders visit Governor Punjab to condole Begum Bhutto's sad demise

To condole the sad demise of Begum Nusrat Bhutto, a delegation of Tehreek-e-Minhaj-ul-Quran (TMQ) and Pakistan AwamiTehreek (PAT) led by Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi, Secretary General TMQ, called on Governor Punjab Sardar Muhammad Latif khosa, and expressed their sorrow and grief over Begum Bhutto's sad departure from life that is an irreparable loss of PPP workers and Party leadership. The delegation offered Fateha and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace. Dr. Raheeq Ahmed Abbasi, also conveyed the grief of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on Begum Nusrat Bhutto’s sorrowful departure.

Team MWL spends Eid with orphan children & helpless women

It has been a standard practice of Minhaj-ul-Quran Women League that it has always been celebrating the festive occasions of Eid and other religious festivals along with orphan, poor and helpless children. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Adha this year too, MWL arranged a number of sports for the children of Aagosh, Orphan Care Home, a giant welfare project of Minhaj Welfare Foundation having complete state of the art residential and educational facilities for the poor and helpless children.

MSM (Sisters) holds Introductory Workshop 2011

An organizational workshop entitled “Introductory Workshop” was arranged by MSM (Sisters) on Saturday, 15th October 2011. The aim was to introduce Mustafavi Students Movement (Sisters), its objectives, and the activities among different categories of female students in Lahore. The purpose was also to maintain a proper organizational structure of MSM (Sisters) in Lahore. About 90 students from different educational institutions of Lahore participated.

They were welcomed by Mr. Sohail Ahmad Raza (Director Interfaith Relations and MRC, Pakistan), Mr. Shafqat Hussain Awan (General Secretary Minhaj Reconciliation Council Kharian), Mr. Tariq Hussain Mirza (Senior Executive Member) and Ms. Shabana Malik (Lady Councilor).

Free anti-dengue medical camp held in Minhaj College for Women

On September 26, 2011, Minhaj Welfare Foundation organized a medical camp in Minhaj College for Women in Township, Lahore, to raise awareness for prevention of dengue virus. The anti-dengue drive was launched by MWF in a camp held in central secretariat of MQI in Lahore in which patients were given free quality medicines imported from Germany.

Seminar on containing extremism held under MRC Norway

Shaykh Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, chairman of WAAG Pakistan Branch, was the guest of honour on the occasion. This unique program in the Norwegian history was organized with the cooperation of Police and Justice Departments.

MWF kick-starts relief campaign for flood affectees of Sindh

The torrential rains have hit many parts of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, Sindh and Balochistan in last two weeks. The province of Sindh happens to be the worst hit by these rains, with millions of people rendered homeless, crops washed away and deaths of many people. There are now fears that epidemics are likely to break out in the absence of any effective medical system in the flood-hit areas.

Adieu Itikaf City 2011

The Itikaf City 2011 held under the aegis of Minhaj-ul-Quran International concluded on August 30, 2011 after the moon of Eid was sighted after evening prayers. The thousands of ‘Mutakifeen’ congratulated one another after the Eid was declared on Wednesday, August 31. Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri also felicitated the Mutakifeen on the occasion. He led a tearful Dau through video conferencing from London. The participants took part in the concluding Dua with tearful eyes and sobbing in Jamia al-Minhaj, Township, Lahore.
