UK-Martyrs of Karbla Conference 2013 held by MWL (Nelson)

On the 10th of November 2013, the Minhaj Women League (Nelson) hosted annual Muharram Mehfil namely, the Shohada-e-Karbala Conference (Maryrs of Karbla Conference) at the Minhaj-ul-Quran Centre in Nelson.

Approximately four hundred participants attended the gathering. This ‘mehfil’ was hosted by Sister Sana Ashraf. The programme was initiated with the beautiful recitation of the Holy Quran by Sister Ghulam Fatima. This was followed by the melodious recitation of Qaseeda Burda Shareef by Sister Shagufta Sarvar. Naat sharif and ‘manqabaat’ were recited in the honour of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) by the youth girls from the Pearls of Knowledge classes taught by Allama Hafiz Abdul Saeed.

Sister Atikah presented a speech in English focusing on the true message behind the events of Karbala. A moving Urdu speech was presented in a unique way by Sayeda Naila Shah. Nasreen Akhtar from the MWL (UK) President for North Zone gave a touching talk with regard to the mission and the Mustafi revolution, informed the audience on Shaykh-ul-Islam’s struggle for Pakistan and also mentioned a few on-going projects.

Alhamdulillah, as a result of this address some of the ladies in the audience were impressed and wished to become members of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The mehfil was concluded with invoking greetings and salutations on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W) led by Sister Shabnum and Sister Anam. This was followed by a dua including a special supplication for good health and long life of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-qadri. After which food was served by the Women League to all the attendees of the gathering.
