Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presents paper on Islamic microfinance
Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Deputy Chairman, Board of Governors of Minhaj University and the Chairman Board of Directors Almawakhat Islamic Microfinance, presented the business model of Almawakhat Islamic microfinance at a two-day International Conference on Islamic Microfinance and prevailing business models. The Conference was organized on May 06-08 by International Institute of Islamic Economics, International Islamic University, Islamabad, in collaboration with Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Development Bank, Jeddah.The conference was attended by prominent scholars and figures from International Islamic Microfinance industry and academia belonging to Brunei, Indonesia, Saudi Arabia, U.K., Nigeria, Malaysia and Pakistan.
The Business model of Almawakhat Islamic Microfinance Pakistan was presented as a research paper in the conference, which was jointly written by Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and Mr. Abdul Ammar Mun’am, lecturer Minhaj University Lahore and Manager Project Development Almawakhat Islamic Microfinance. This paper was placed in “A” category by Islamic Research and Training Institute (IRTI), Islamic Development Bank. Dr. Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri presented his paper in the last and main session of the Conference on May 7th, 2014. He was granted the maximum time to present his views and paper on Islamic microfinance and AMIM business model. The presentation was followed by the extensive Q&A session. His presentation and answers to the questions were very much appreciated by the participants of the conference. In the end, a special shield was presented to Dr. Hussain Mohi ud Din Qadri by IIU and IDB. The top management of IIUI also requested Dr. Hussain Mohi ud Din Qadri to spare some time in future for exclusive lectures on Islamic Economics and Finance for the faculty members and students of IIIE.
