Friday observed as ‘Yawm-e-Azmat-e-Mustafa (PBUH)’ under MQI

Friday, the 10th of March 2017, was observed as ‘Yawm-e-Azmat-e-Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him) throughout the world including Pakistan on the appeal of Minhaj-ul-Quran International. The religious scholars gave special lectures on the Sira of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in their Friday sermons against the objectionable content on the social media. They expressed their abiding love and loyalty to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).

Peaceful protest rallies were taken out in several cities after the Friday prayers, which were attended by thousands of the people. Amir of MQI Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani delivered a special address in the central Minhaj-ul-Quran Mosque in Model Town on the subject of ‘Azmat-e-Mustafa (peace and blessings be upon him). He said that no religion of the world allows blasphemy of any faith, prophet or divine book. He said that those who have generated blasphemous content on the social media are terrorists who have hurt the feelings of the Muslims as well as the millions of people of the civilized world.

Sahibzada Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani demanded that such miscreants should be arrested immediately under the charge of spawning terrorism and legal proceedings be initiated against them. He asked the international institutions and the UN to ensure the implementation of laws already existing on the subject to stem recurrence of such incidents. He said that Muslims hold all 124,000 prophets in the highest esteem, adding that it is the responsibility of the heads of the Islamic countries to come forward and play their role to stop such incidents. He said that it is time for collective decisions in the interest of global peace and interfaith harmony.

Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani said that a joint session of Parliament should be convened and this all-important issue should be debated with a view to spelling out a national policy on the subject. He said that the passing of statements would not do. He said that generators of the blasphemous content have hurt the feelings of 1.5 billion Muslims. He said that MQI will continue to raise this issue at every level.

Thousands of the faithful offered their greetings and salutations upon the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in Jamia Al-Minhaj after Friday prayers and gave a message of loyalty and love for the person of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
