Shaykh-ul-Islam’s message on Independence Day

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has extended profound congratulations to the people of Pakistan including overseas Pakistanis on the 76th Independence Day anniversary of the beloved motherland.

In his message of felicitation, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah had termed the Holy Quran a complete code of life, as it has commandments relating to all walks of life whether it is politics, society, governance, justice system, military administration, or religious laws. He said that his message to every citizen of Pakistan on this Independence Day was that they should hold on to the Holy Quran, and read it with complete attention with a view to finding solutions to their problems.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that Islam teaches us to respect the rights of the minority communities, advocates and safeguards women’s rights, ordains us to earn our living through legal means and urges us to be tolerant and moderate in our behaviors.

Dr Qadri said that when the Quaid-i-Azam used to be asked about the impossibility of the attainment of Pakistan after the passage of the 1940 resolution, he would say: Muslims have this Book (The Holy Quran) with us that has complete guidance. We need not worry. He said that if we make the Holy Quran the source of guidance, we would have all our problems resolved.

The MQI leader said that freedom is a great blessing, urging the country men, women and children to protect this blessing. He reminded that Muslims of the sub-continent had rendered exemplary sacrifices to achieve Pakistan. He highlighted the importance of unity and solidarity as the guiding principles to rebuild Pakistan. He said as we pay tributes to the martyrs who laid down their lives in the freedom movement, we should vow to play our part in realizing the objectives for which this great country was brought into existence.
