MQI celebrates its 43rd foundation day

MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri addressed, via video link, a ceremony held at the central secretariat to mark the 43rd foundation-day of the Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI). He said that MQI has changed the religious culture; discouraged ‘Takfairi’ attitude and one of blame games and revived the values of mutual respect and knowledge and research. He said MQI is a movement dedicated to the mission of calling people to the Holy Quran, and Sunna with a special focus on character building. He said that ceremonies held under the banner of MQI are a reflection of moderation, inclusiveness, gratitude and love, adding that the faith leaders and the leading lights of the different schools of thought like to join its platform to send a message of oneness, inclusivity and unity. He said that MQI has given a gift of over 1000 books on a variety of subjects to humanity. He congratulated the MQI family on the 43rd foundation of MQI.

MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, in his speech at the ceremony, said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri gifted Muslim Ummah with Encyclopedia of Hadith Sciences on the milestone of MQI completing 43 years of its life. He said that MQI set up institutions and centers of international standards throughout the world to guide the youth in these turbulent times with a view to reform their conduct and protect them from the scourge of extremism. He termed Nizam-ul-Madaris Pakistan as a revolutionary step that has emerged as a role model in the history of religious seminaries.

MQI senior leader Brig. (r ) Iqbal Ahmad Khan paid rich tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and said MQI is a religious movement but the words of sectarianism and intolerance do not exist in the dictionary of Shaykh-ul-Islam. He said that Dr Qadri has brought about a cultural change in Pakistan so far as interfaith dialogue is concerned.

Jawwad Hamid conducted the proceedings of the ceremony. The proceedings of the event got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran by Tayyab Zia, whereas Rana Waheed Shahzad had the honour to recite Naat. GM Malik made Dua for peace, and progress of the country at the conclusion of the ceremony.

Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Syed Altaf Hussain Shah, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Rana Muhammad Fayyaz, Noorullah Siddiqui, Sohail Ahmad Raza, Shahzad Rasool Chaudhry, Sardar Umar Daraz Khan, Sidra Karamat, Ayesha Mubashar, Aneela Ilyas, Qari Riasat Ali, and the Directors of the various directorates and departments attended the ceremony.
