Two old men walk all the way to Minar-e-Pakistan

The long wait is about to be over as the masses get ready to congregate at historic Minar-e-Pakistan to welcome Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri when he arrives in Pakistan on December 23. People of all age groups including children and women belonging to all walks of life are enthusiastic and eagerly awaiting Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri who they see as saviour of the nation.

Of particular mention is the passion and commitment of two 80 year-old people of Sialkot and Islamabad whose penchant for change has become a motivating factor for the youth. Haji Ghulam Haider Butt, who left for Lahore from Islamabad along with a delegation, walked all the way up to Minar-e-Pakistan to listen to Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Muhammad Anwar Numberdar, another old man, also walked up to Minar-e-Pakistan from Sialkot along with members of his delegation to take part in the grand public reception.

The zeal and zest of both individuals is worth seeing as they kissed the portraits of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in the venue with their eyes being full of tears. The people of Lahore city did justice to their welcome by garlanding them with rose petals.

Talking to the media men on the occasion, both old people said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was a ray of hope amid darkness of leadership crisis. They said that he not only understood the problems the country was faced with but had a clear planning to resolve them. They said that Dr Qadri’s struggle for change in the electoral system was the voice of every Pakistan. They said that the slogan of saving change and not politics could steer the nation out of quagmire of multiple problems.
