Self-confidence, courage of conviction and initiative can get us out of crises: Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani

Central Amir of Minhaj-ul-Quran International and President of Pakistan Awami Tehreek, Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani, has said that the rulers need self-confidence and courage of conviction to steer the ship of the state from the tempestuous waters. People need Islamic training. What is being done in the name of Islam has nothing to do with our great religion. Rather, it is in complete contravention of Islamic teachings. The present state of affairs, we are caught in, has arisen because we have turned our back on Islam and commandments of Allah Almighty. History bears witness to the fact that the nations face difficult times but it is the courage of national leadership and conviction of people that enables them to fight their way out of crises.

He expressed these views while addressing the inaugural ceremony of Islamic Training Course held in the Central Secretariat of MQI under the banner of Directorate of Training the other day. Sayyid Muhammad Abul Khair Madani, the son of former prayer leader of the Prophet’s Mosque Imam Muhammad Adeeb al-Hadi, was the guest of honour on the occasion.

Faiz-ur-Rehman Durrani said that Islam furnished complete code of conduct for its followers following which they could attain glory not only here but in the hereafter as well. He said that unfortunately we back-paddled on the teachings of Islam. The result is that we have lost awareness. Our dissociation with religion has made us alien to the realities of life. He said that it was the responsibility of all the sections of society to start serving the country and masses. “The national interests should stand supreme in the face of personal interests,” he held.

Faiz-ur-Rahman Durrani said that the enemy was trying to spread fear among the masses through different ways. Those nations and individuals who succumb to such tactics and pressures have their national sovereignty compromised. We need to put our trust in Allah Almighty and take on the challenges head-on instead of being cowed down by them. He said that conspiracy was also afoot to bring Islam into disrepute through an organized campaign. All of us have it on their shoulders to foil this conspiracy. We should foster national unity and consensus to be able to charter a new course of action for ourselves.

Sayyid Muhammad Abul Khair Madani said in his keynote speech that the enemy forces wanted us to keep fighting with one another so that they could succeed in their nefarious designs. We would have to foil all the attempts of the enemy. Intellectuals and influential personalities could guide the rulers at this critical hour and could also play their due role in the development and promotion of equality, brotherhood, peace, love, unity and tolerance. They should play their role in a befitting manner.

Dr Tanvir Azam Sandhu, G.M. Malik, Murtaza Alvi, Qamar Javed, Jawad Hamid, Rana Farooq and Maulana Usman Sialvi also addressed on the occasion.
