Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri establishes contact with political leadership
PTI Chairman Imran Khan will visit the central secretariat of PAT on December 26 and meet PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri. Matters related to Baqir Najfi Commission report, All-Parties Conference, and political developments will come under discussion in the meeting.
Meanwhile, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri established contact with PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain and Jamaat-e-Islami Amir Siraj-ul-Haq yesterday and discussed matters of mutual interest with them. The PAT Chairman extended invitation to the both leaders to attend the upcoming APC being held on December 30, which they accepted.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Qadri said that if the Sharif brothers had not taken the life of our workers, our differences would have remained confined to politics but added in the same breath that the matters have gone beyond that now. He said that the issue is now related to blood and Qisas. He made it categorically clear that no one should be afraid of our legal struggle to get justice. He said that our past bears witness to the fact that we demonstrated peacefulness in the face of the worst provocations. He said that if anyone has to be afraid, he should fear the perpetrators of Model Town tragedy and those found involved in stashing billions of rupees abroad through money laundering. He said that these are the people who have impoverished country and declared war on the judiciary when they were asked to give an account of their ill-gotten wealth.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that we led a long march and staged a sit-in in January 2013 but the then PPP government did not spray bullets on us. He said that we had just announced to take to the streets against the political elite but they shed the blood of innocent people on June 17.
Talking to a delegation of Minhaj-ul-Quran Youth League that called on him under the leadership of Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, the PAT Chairman said that the youth of PAT and MQI have waged an exemplary struggle against the status quo and the oppressive system. He said that he is proud of the educated, committed and peaceful youth of PAT and MQI. He said that these youths are the guarantor of prosperous future and a harbinger of revolution.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri congratulated the whole nation including the expatriate Pakistanis on the 142nd birth anniversary of the Quaid-i-Azam. He paid rich tributes to his leadership and stated that the founder of the nation created the country for the protection of the rights of the weak and less privileged sections of society. He said that the elite has converted the country into a fiefdom and usurped the rights of the poor. He said that they shed the blood of innocent people mercilessly for their power. He said that without sending the oppressors and exploiters packing, the agenda of Pakistan will not be complete.
The PAT Chairman also felicitated the Christian community on the happy occasion of Christmas. He said that the non-Muslim minorities are playing exemplary role for development of the country. He said that the objective of stability and progress of Pakistan cannot be achieved by ignoring the minorities.
