Islam places equal emphasis on the education of both men & women: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Addressing a three-day Al-Tazakia camp held under the banner of Minhaj Sisters (UK), Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said Islam places equal stress on the education of both men and women. He congratulated the office bearers of Minhaj Sisters on arranging programmes every year for the spiritual training and moral orientation of the women and described them as a great service to Islam. He said it is a matter of great satisfaction that women from across the UK attend these camps and try to increase their knowledge of Islam and their responsibilities in promoting peace, and harmony in the world.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri also expressed his satisfaction on the fact that the Muslim youth living in Europe are aware of their role in spreading the peaceful message of Islam and promoting interfaith harmony. He said their efforts are instrumental in building bridges between Islam and other faiths. He said MQI is an international movement dedicated to the promotion of peace, love and human brotherhood. He said the educational institutions set up by MQI not only fulfill the educational needs of men but also of the women. He said thousands of girls and women are benefiting from quality education imparted by these institutions.
Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri, MP Naz Naseem Shah, and renowned social activist Samia Ali gave lectures on various subjects regarding the rights of women in Islam and the women empowerment.
Ms. Ansa, spokesperson for Al-Tazkia camp said that Minhaj-S has been holding these camps every year. She said these camps not only impart lessons on different topics but also provide an opportunity for social interaction. This way the attending families come closer to each other and share views on matters of mutual interests. She said these camps have a valuable social function as well.
