Dua ceremony held for the departed souls of APS Peshawar
The meeting of MQI Lahore Executive Council was held with President Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri in the chair. The participants made Dua for the departed souls of the martyrs of APS Peshawar tragedy.
Addressing the meeting, Rana Nafees Qadri said that the martyrs of Army Public School Peshawar are our heroes. He said that the exemplary sacrifices of the innocent children can never be forgotten. He said that the teachers and students united the nation against terrorism by giving the supreme sacrifice of their lives.
President of MQI Lahore chapter said that that in addition to being the tragedy of epic proportions, December 16 is also a day of renewing our pledge to make all possible efforts to eradicate terrorism, violence and extremism. He said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri wrote a 600-page historic decree against terrorism in line with the real Islamic teachings. He said that this Fatwa highlighted the Islamic perspective from East to West and exposed those who sought to use the name of Islam to justify their nefarious actions.
Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri said that Islamic peace curriculum and counter-terrorism is a guarantor of peace and security around the world. He said that this great scholarly work should be included in the educational syllabi so that our succeeding generations can make themselves aware of the teachings of our great faith. He said that this work will also help in making a comprehensive and coordinated policy against terrorism.
The Executive Council meeting approved the decision of setting up a medical camp in Raiwind on December 19. Prof Zulifqar Ali, Ishtiaq Hanif Mughal, Fl. Lt. (r ) Abdul Majeed, and Rana Ateeq-ur-Rahman were present on the occasion.
