God-fearing crucial for curing mental ailments: Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Prayer is the best antidote for the patients suffering from psychic issues and psychological complications. There is scientific evidence that establishes that a society where the people have fear of God provides equality to all members and does not commit injustice. Absent the morality and the fear of God, a society becomes a picture of exploitation of the basic rights and law of the jungle.
MQI President Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri made these remarks while delivering a speech in Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam on Friday. He said that those who deny the importance and the need of religion are pushing society into darkness, lawlessness and moral atrophy. He said that a religion does not admit of extremism and radicalism, stating that it is more of a human issue than a religious one.
Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that moderation is the essential teaching of Islam and we have forgotten it altogether. He said that Islam has given the best code of life, containing a charter of human rights for all segments of society including to the less privileged sections. He said if we study religion from the perspective of medical science, the religious teachings tell us that the remedy of depression and psychological disorder lies in complete obedience of religion.
He said that the need and inevitability of religious teachings is established to address moral weaknesses, cure psychological ailments and build one’s character. He said that societies are being plunged into a state of lawlessness by making the youth estranged from religion “The only path to deal with the intellectual mischief and protect oneself from the attacks on one’s mind, beliefs and thought process lies in strengthening the bond with religious teachings,” he added.
