Love for Hazrat Ali (AS) is sign of faith: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
On January 25, 2024, in Lahore, the founding-leader and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri stated on the occasion of the birth of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) on the 13th of Rajab-ul-Murajjab that love for Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is the essence of faith. He said that salvation lies in the love for Ali (AS), and some forms of animosity towards him are, indeed, hypocrisy.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is the personality who had the honor of being the first youngest companion and remained under the guardianship of the Holy Prophet ﷺ and later had the privilege of being his son-in-law. He said that the total number of Hadiths narrated by Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) is 15,666.
The Holy Prophet ﷺ said, "I am the city of knowledge, and Ali is its gate, so whoever desires knowledge, let him enter through this gate." The Holy Prophet ﷺ also said, "Love for Ali is faith, and hatred for Ali is hypocrisy." Looking towards Ali is also a source of tenderness and kindness, and loving him is also worship.
