The claims of love are meaningless without obedience: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Annual ‘Urs’ ceremony of Naqeeb-ul-Ashraf Qudwat-ul-Auliya Syedna Tahir Alauddin Al-Qadri (RA) held

Speaking at the annual ‘Urs’ ceremony of Naqeeb-ul-Ashraf Qudwa-tul-Aulia Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani Al-Baghdadi (RA), the founder and patron-in-chief of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri said that claims of sincerity are meaningless without obedience. He said that Islam is a religion of action and a code of life, not just claims.

He said that Qudwa-tul-Aulia Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani Al-Baghdadi (RA) was at the highest level of following Sharia and was among the perfect saints and righteous predecessors in terms of piety and devotion. He loved and was inclined towards nothing more than the religion of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW). Following the Sufi way, his table was royal and vast, feeding people was his special act of worship.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Qudwa-tul-Aulia was in need of no one except Allah. He was indifferent to the courts of kings and their associations. Shaykh-ul-Islam said that he had a direct relationship of devotion with him for 26 years, but Qudwa-tul-Aulia never uttered a word that was not in accordance with the Quran and Sunnah. Without indifference, there is no sainthood or Sufism.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that Qudwa-tul-Aulia’s humility and self-control were such that he never claimed to be Naqeeb-ul-Ashraf or a descendant of Ali. He said that claims of love for the people of Allah without action are futile and a deception of the self.

The Urs ceremony was attended by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General, Deputy Secretaries-General Rana Muhammad Idrees, Engineer Rafiq Najam, Syed Altaf Hussain Shah Gillani, Jawad Hamid, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Noorullah Siddiqui, Sufi Maqsood Ahmed, Allama Latif Madni, Allama Ain-ul-Haq Baghdadi, Supreme Council Member Mian Murtaza Murtazai, Shehzad Rasool, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Abid Bashir, Asif Salharia Advocate, office-bearers and workers of Minhaj Women League, Minhaj Youth League, and MSM.

Renowned reciters and Naat Khawans from across the country presented tributes at the event. The ceremony took place at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International on the occasion of the monthly Majlis Khatm-ul-Salat-un-Nabi (SAW).
