Senior PPP leader from the US visits MQI Secretariat
Safdar Humayun Qureshi, the focal person for Pakistan People's Party (Overseas America chapter), visited the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran and the state-of-the-art complex for the education, training, and support of orphaned children, Aghosh Orphan Care Home.
Upon his arrival at the Minhaj-ul-Quran central secretariat, Safdar Humayun Qureshi was welcomed by Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Secretary-General, Brigadier (R) Iqbal Ahmed Khan, Vice President, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Senior Vice President of PAT, Noorullah Siddiqui, Deputy Secretary-General Media Affairs, Shehzad Rasool, Abid Bashir, and Secretary Coordination Tayyab Zia.
During his visit, Safdar Humayun Qureshi remarked that the late Benazir Bhutto admired Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri's knowledge, wisdom, political insight, and the global role of Minhaj-ul-Quran. He mentioned that she was also a life member of Minhaj-ul-Quran. He added that Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri and Minhaj-ul-Quran are held in high regard with great respect and honor worldwide.
Safdar Humayun Qureshi also toured the Aghosh Complex, spent the day with the orphaned children, and had lunch with them. Colonel (R) Mubashar Iqbal, the Director of the Aghosh Complex, provided him with a detailed briefing about the education and training of the children under their care. He explained that the children who join the nursery continue to stay associated with Minhaj-ul-Quran even after completing their higher education. They help arrange their marriages and provide employment opportunities.
Colonel (R) Mubashar Iqbal further stated that the orphaned children who came to them are now employed and are themselves supporting other orphaned children. Safdar Humayun Qureshi said that placing a hand on an orphan's head is a blessed Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He expressed his belief that those who support orphans will be honored both in this world and in the hereafter. He emphasized that the best form of showing love and compassion to an orphan is by providing them with an education.
