True Faith Lies in the Love for the Prophet (PBUH): Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees
During the Friday sermon at Jamy Shaykh-ul-Islam, Model Town, Lahore, on October 25, 2024, Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Deputy Secretary General of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, emphasized that true faith is rooted in love and reverence for the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He stated that the respect and honor of the Prophet (PBUH) is a directive from Allah Almighty Himself. Referring to Surah Al-Hujurat, he highlighted the meaning of the verse: "O believers, do not raise your voices above the voice of the Prophet (PBUH), lest your deeds be nullified."
Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees pointed out that without respect, even abundant knowledge is of no value. This is why the Companions, saints, and righteous predecessors prioritized reverence. He said if we wish to be deserving of Allah's blessings, we must rely on respect even more than knowledge. He noted that revering parents and teachers sets one on the path of success and righteousness. He further mentioned that the teachings of Surah Al-Hujurat encourage us to embody good morals and character, stressing that without respect, ethics, and character, nothing else holds value.
He explained that the opening verses of Surah Al-Hujurat warn against advancing ahead of the Holy Prophet (PBUH), speaking loudly in his presence, or disturbing his peace, equating such actions to a lifetime's deeds being rendered void. Indeed, the honor and status of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) surpasses all wealth, parents, and children.
Allama Idrees asserted that the respect and reverence for the Prophet (PBUH), along with his dignity and honor, have been taught to us directly by the Creator in the Holy Quran. The training in the etiquette of the Prophet’s (PBUH) court has been given by Allah Himself. All goodness, both in this world and the hereafter, lies solely in revering the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
