Every home must become a center of knowledge for peace and prosperity: Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Supreme Council Chairman
After the conquest of Mecca, the Prophet (PBUH) appointed teachers, not rulers,
in various cities
Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, stated that every home must become a center of knowledge for peace and prosperity. The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was sent as a teacher of the Book and Wisdom, and his love for knowledge was so profound that after the conquest of Mecca, he appointed teachers, not rulers, in various cities, including Oman, Najran, Taif, Yemen, and Mecca. He said that at the time of the Battle of Badr, prisoners of war who could not pay ransom were given the option of teaching ten Muslims to read and write in exchange for their freedom. We must serve the cause of knowledge in adherence to this prophetic model.
He mentioned that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, founder and patron of Minhaj-ul-Quran, set a target to establish 25,000 centers of knowledge across Pakistan, and all efforts should be directed to achieve this goal. The establishment of these knowledge centers is not only an organizational responsibility but also an act of following the Sunnah and fulfilling a religious duty.
Dr. Hassan Qadri further explained that the Companions of the Prophet (PBUH), who were driven out of Mecca through oppression and persecution, returned as victors and transformed their homes into centers of knowledge rather than palaces. He said that the Prophet's Mosque became the first organized institution of learning where the Prophet (PBUH) himself trained the Companions as teachers. These teachers would educate children and women in their homes in Medina, turning each house into a center of knowledge.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri added that seeing statistics indicating that over 25 million children are out of school due to poverty and inadequate educational facilities is heartbreaking. In a religion that began with the command "Iqra" (Read), leaving millions of Muslims, especially children, uneducated is a defiance of the commands of Allah and His Messenger (PBUH). Political, religious, social organizations, and movements must prioritize the promotion of knowledge. The solution to every problem lies in promoting purposeful education.
