Helping refugees is an act of faith: Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri

Young scholar Shaykh Hammad Mustafa Al-Madani Al-Qadri, grandson of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, addressed “The Mercy Conference” in Birmingham, stating that Islam teaches us to help those in need and support the vulnerable in all circumstances. No one who came to the Holy Prophet's (PBUH) door seeking assistance ever left empty-handed. THe said that it is the responsibility of the well-to-do people to include the weak and needy in their happiness.

He explained that comforting others, sharing in their sorrow, helping them secure justice, and protecting them from oppression are also services to the faith. He said that the Holy Prophet (PBUH) never let a request go unanswered, and his generosity inspired the Companions, who valued his companionship over wealth. Supporting refugees is indeed an act of faith. Generosity isn’t limited to financial support; it also includes showing love and compassion.

Shaykh Hammad encouraged making support for Muslims a priority, especially in times of hardship, as this form of assistance is highly valued by Allah. After the migration to Madinah, the noble traditions of brotherhood and solidarity were established, and today, there is an even greater need to show selfless generosity. True generosity is tested when someone extends a helping hand even while facing financial difficulties. The Prophet (PBUH) never refused any request.

Shaykh Hammad congratulated Minhaj-ul-Quran International UK, Minhaj Welfare Foundation, Minhaj Women League UK, Minhaj Muslim Generations, Minhaj Sisters, and other partner organizations for the successful organization of the conference. Distinguished guests included Mrs. Safa Hammad Qadri, Khadija Atkinson, Ansa Hussain, Syed Ali Abbas Bukhari (President of Minhaj-ul-Quran UK), Muazzam Raza, Abu Adam Ahmad al-Shirazi, Dr. Zahid Iqbal, Allama Afzal Saeedi, Seerat Ali Khan, Ghulam Murtaza, Muhibeen Hussain, and others. Participants praised Minhaj-ul-Quran and its associated scholars for promoting Islam’s message of love and compassion and the Prophetic teachings.
