The Constitution of Medina is the first written constitution of the world: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Chairman of the Supreme Council of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, while expressing his views at a conference on the subject of the Charter of Medina held by the District Bar Association in Hyderabad, said that the Articles of the Charter of Medina should be utilized to eradicate extremism and intolerance.

The Medina Charter, he said, is a unique document that was the first written constitution of the world, which was drafted under the leadership and supervision of the Holy Prophet (peace be upon him). He said that this charter laid the foundation of the Medina State and provided the world with the first set of Islamic, republican, political, and economic principles, illuminating the path of general welfare and interfaith harmony.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that in his research, he has proven the Quranic basis of the Articles of the Charter of Medina and their authentication through 90 blessed Hadiths. The Charter of Medina, he said, is a constitutional document for the Ummah (Muslim community). He said that the articles of the Charter of Medina advocate for public peace, general welfare, and interfaith harmony, along with the principles of governance, freedom of expression, and women's rights.

Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further stated that Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) not only bestowed the Charter upon the Ummah but also implemented it in his model Medina society.

Upon his arrival, Dr Hassan was warmly welcomed at the District Bar Association, Hyderabad, and was presented with the traditional Sindhi ajrak. He congratulated President G Laghari Advocate, General Secretary Faisal Mughal Advocate, Muhammad Yousuf Rapotou Advocate, and all other office-holders on organizing the event. The District Bar Association members congratulated Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri on bringing important research to light for the benefit of researchers, lawyers, judges, scholars and the general readers.

Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that the book has been simultaneously published in Urdu, English, and Arabic languages. He said that scholars from Al-Azhar University in Egypt have verified and authenticated the research and analytical content of the book, confirming its academic credibility.

MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Vice President Imran Arain Advocate, Joint Secretary Noreen Sheikh Advocate, and Deputy Secretary General Mazhar Mahmood Alvi also addressed the audience.
