The 52nd annual 'Urs' of Dr. Farid-ud-Din Qadri (RA), a prominent leader of the Pakistan Movement and the honorable father of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr. Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was held with great reverence. Internationally acclaimed Qaris and Naat reciters from across the country presented heartfelt tributes.
Addressing the gathering, Allama Sahibzada Zaheer Ahmad Naqshbandi said that Dr. Farid-ud-Din Qadri (RA) was not only a great father but also a highly respected and scholarly figure of his time. He personally oversaw the early education and upbringing of Shaykh-ul-Islam and facilitated his religious training under the guidance of esteemed teachers of the Quran and Sunnah in Madinah Munawwarah.
He further added that professionally, Dr. Farid-ud-Din Qadri (RA) was a doctor and a well-known social and spiritual personality in his region. The Minhaj-ul-Quran organization named the Farid-e-Millat Research Institute after him, which annually publishes dozens of books in various languages, receiving acclaim from religious and academic circles worldwide.
He emphasized that if Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri is today spreading pearls of knowledge and wisdom across the globe, it is due to the profound training and upbringing he received from his father.
Speaking at the event, Muhammad Sibtainullah Qadri, the Administrator of the Farid-e-Millat Shrine, said that Minhaj-ul-Quran is a movement dedicated to the promotion of knowledge and character-building. “We are fortunate to have received the spiritual guidance of Dr. Farid-ud-Din Qadri (RA), who in turn nurtured Dr. Tahir-ul-Qadri, who today, as Sheikh-ul-Islam, is spreading the light of knowledge worldwide.”
Director of Dar-ul-Uloom Faridiyah Qadriyah in Jhang, Allama Hafiz Abdul Qadeer Qadri, remarked that the spiritual influence of Farid-e-Millat (RA) continues to this day. Under the patronage of Minhaj-ul-Quran, hundreds of boys and girls are memorizing the Holy Quran and receiving religious education at this seminary.
Prominent scholarly, spiritual, political, and social figures from Jhang attended the Urs ceremony. Central leaders of Minhaj-ul-Quran — including Allama Rana Muhammad Idrees, Engineer Muhammad Rafiq Najam, Jawad Hamid, Shehzad Rasool, Hafiz Abid Bashir, Dr. Mir Asif Akbar, Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri, Prof. Zulfiqar Ali, Brig. (R) Umar Hayat, Noorullah Siddiqui, Abdul Rehman Malik, Sheikh Aftab, Ghulam Farid Aajiz, and Imtiaz Awan — visited the shrine of Farid-e-Millat (RA) and offered floral tributes.
