A fight against extremism
04:46 AM Sep 25, 2011
Thousands of Muslims were gathered at a rally in London yesterday to fight extremism and promote a moderate, inclusive version of Islam.
The event's organisers, Minhaj-ul-Quran International, said some 12,000 Muslims were expected at Wembley Arena. The event was broadcast live to dozens of countries.
The group's founder, Islamic scholar Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, said killing innocents is forbidden in Islam, and Muslims must integrate into the societies in which they are living.
