Minhaj Welfare Foundation reaches out to the drought-hit families of Tharparkar
In the first phase, 500 families will be given ration for a month
Medical camps will be set up in the calamity-hit district
Nowadays Tharparkar, one of twenty three districts of Sindh province in Pakistan, is experiencing a famine-like situation after severe drought, and at least 32 malnourished children are reported to have died.
A delegation of Minhaj Welfare Foundation (MWF) has left for Tharparkar District with relief goods. Under the instructions of Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, the director of MWF has constituted a committee which will distribute food and medicines in the drought-affected area. MWF’s deputy director of operations, Ain-ul-Haqq, is heading a three-member team which will visit the stricken area along with the MQI’s leadership of Sindh.
In the first phase, 500 families will be given ration for a month: floor, rice, cooking oil, sugar, red chillies, lentils, biscuits, milk, salt and bottled water. Also, MWF will organise medical camps in the affected villages of Tharparkar.
In the past, MWF has carried out rehabilitation activities at home and abroad.
