In connection with the ongoing celebration marking the 57th birthday of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, Urdu declamation contest was held in the COSIS (Minhaj University) under the banner of Bazm-e-Minhaj. Addressing at the occasion, the chief guest Sahibzada Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that there were two kinds on nations; the one was mired in the abyss of darkness and degradation and the other was on the path of progress and prosperity. One thousand years ago, other nations followed Islam and today situation has come to such a pass that the Muslim Umma is having to follow others in their footprints. The West was in highly deplorable condition at that time and there was no concept of culture, civilization and societal values. It was the time when Islamic states were the symbol of modernity and progress. He said Minhaj University is the only institution where modern and ancient sciences have been blended.

Dr Sayed Kalab-us-Sadiq (India) said at the occasion that modern education is also imparted along with the Islamic teachings at the Minhaj University, which is the demand of the modern age. He expressed his satisfaction over the standard of education here. More than 20 colleges participated in the speech competition. Jamil Akhtar of Minhaj College of Commerce and Muhammad Waqas Qadri of COSIS, Muhammad Hussain Qureshi of Quaid-e-Azam Law College and Aakif Tahir of Punjab University got first, second and third positions respectively.
