Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri reaches London from Toronto
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadi reached London from Toronto yesterday where he got a warm reception. The office bearers of European organizations of PAT and Dr Raheeq Ahmad Abbasi were present at the airport to receive Dr Qadri.
Talking to local and foreign journalists at the airport, Dr Qadri said that if rulers of a country choose to kill their own citizens, they have no right to stay on in power. He said that if the government created hurdles in the way of our peaceful protest, it will be responsible for the consequences. He said that it was on the intervention of the Army Chief that FIR of the Model Town tragedy was registered. He said that we are reminding the COAS about his responsibility for administration of justice because it is the military’s mandate to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations under the NAP, adding that the Model Town tragedy is the worst form of state terrorism.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that no institution of the state ever takes up arms against the innocent citizens at the behest of their rulers in any civilized country but Punjab Police committed the heinous act of mass-killing innocent people in broad daylight on the orders of the Sharif government. He said that it has been two years since we have been waiting for justice and now we are left with no option but to take to streets. He said that he would announce next line of action to seek justice on The Mall on June 17.
The PAT Chairman said that he had stated categorically two years ago that no justice would be delivered in the presence of the Sharif brothers and what we said then has proven to be true now. He said that the rulers got a clean-chit through formation of a fake JIT but the families of martyrs continue to go from pillar to post for justice. He said that the Punjab Chief Minister, while announcing formation of judicial commission, had said on the evening of June 17, 2014 that if the judicial commission hinted at him, he would waste no time in relinquishing his position. He said that the Justice Baqar-led judicial commission held the Punjab government guilty but instead of tendering resignation and becoming part of investigation, the Punjab CM got the report changed and exonerated himself.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that societies that fail to dispense justice to the week get eliminated. He said that it is dangerous for the country if the present rulers stay on in power.
