The Mall Lahore to be venue of 33rd International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference
An emergency meeting of MQI was held at the central secretariat Lahore with Jawad Hamid, Secretary of central Milad Committee in the chair. The meeting was attended by central, provincial and district leaders of MQI. The participants strongly condemned the Lahore District Administration for its refusal to grant permission for holding the International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference at the Minar-e-Pakistan. After mutual consultation, it was announced that the International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference will now be held at The Mall Lahore.
The meeting was attended by Shahzad Rasool, Saeed Akhtar, Haji Ishaq, Sheikh Aftab, Shahid Latif, Haji Farrukh, Umar Awan, Hafiz Ghulam Farid, Ch Afzal Gujjar, Mian Zahid Javed, Allama Ghulam Rabbani Tamoor, Mir Asif Akbar and others.
Addressing the meeting, Jawad Hamid said that it is a matter of immense regret that despite our assurance of all-out cooperation and support, the Lahore District Administration did not allow MQI to hold the International Conference at the Minar-e-Pakistan. He said that the decision of the district authorities is condemnable, immoral and dictatorial. He said that the alternate venue for the 33rd International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference will now be The Mall Lahore, stating that the workers should continue making arrangements for the mega event. He said that traders of The Mall Lahore will be included in the conduct of the programme and a separate committee has been formed to contact them in this regard. He said that the entire route of The Mall will be beautified with electric bulbs and buildings on both sides will also be decorated to reflect the festivity of the occasion.
Jawad Hamid said that Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the founding-leader of MQI, will deliver his keynote speech at the International Mawlid-un-Nabi Conference. He said that hundreds of thousands of people will attend the Conference to show their love of the Holy Prophet (SAW). Renowned scholars, Mashaykh, and social and political personalities from the country as well as abroad will also be present at the conference. Milad feast from 7 pm to 9 pm will be arranged for thousands of people. He said that hundreds of youth of Minhaj Youth League will perform the security duties. Renowned Qaris and Naat Khawans will enlighten the hearts of the faithful with recitation of the Holy Quran and Naat in their melodious voices. The proceedings of the conference will be shown to the participants through huge sized screens that will be installed at different locations in the venue.
Jawad Hamid said that in order to make arrangements befitting the festive occasion of Mawlid-un-Nabi, the traders of The Mall will be persuaded to decorate their shops and buildings. He said that separate seating arrangements will be made for male and female participants. He said that welcome camps will be set up in different parts of the city so that incoming caravans of people could be guided to the main venue.
