PAT invites all political parties & rights groups for protest on Jan 27
PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has said that we have extended a formal invitation to PPP, PTI, PML-Q, MWM, JI, AML and SIC for participation in the protest being organized by party on January 27 for justice in the Model town case. He said that an invite is being extended to human rights groups including lawyers.
Talking to media and party’s office bearers at the central secretariat yesterday, Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Model Town tragedy is the only case of the country’s history on which all parties are on the same page. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has been fighting a battle for justice for last two years and our lawyers are presenting proofs in the antiterrorism court on daily basis. He said that it is now on the court to hand down the judgment which is keenly awaited not just by PAT workers but also by 190 million people.
The PAT Secretary General said that the decision in the Model Town case will open up the shut doors of justice in the country. He said that the protest of January 27 will be wholly peaceful and people belonging to all walks of life will attend it in large number. He said that the rulers have thrown in hurdles in the way of justice right from registration of FIR to investigation to trial. He said that we are exercising patience but added in the same breath that the killers of the innocent persons will finally get punished for their crime one day.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri staged and addressed demonstrations in over 200 cities of the country during the first phase of the Qisas movement. He said that we also filed a private complaint in the anti-terrorism court to seek justice whose initial reading has concluded. He said that all proofs have been presented to the court. He said that we want Qisas within the confines of the law of the land. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and his workers did not rest even for a day during the last two years.
The PAT Secretary General said that despite provocations and the government’s highhanded tactics, we never let go of restraint and continue with our struggle in line with the law. He said that there is no question we can budge an inch from the demand of a justice in the Model Town case. He said that the blood of martyrs is a debt on the PAT leaders and workers and we will continue to wage struggle for justice for the martyrs. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has instructed his workers not to lose patience and restraint, come what may.
