The Sharif empire taking its last breath: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Addressing the central Core Committee, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Sharif junior should decide whether he would like to go with dignity or through another method. He said that we are thankful to the political parties that have extended their support to the families of the martyrs. He said that the announcement of a collective protest starting from the 17th of January has created a kind of earthquake in the corridors of power. He said that all political parties will actively participate in the protest on January 17. He said that a system in which the prime minister of the country unabashedly throws the consensus decision of the apex court in the dustbin and goes out of way to protect the looters deserves to be sent packing. He said that the protest campaign will put the killers and their accomplices on the path of their end.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the rule of Sharifs is taking its last breath and the nation will soon hear good news. He said that it is for the first time in last decades that the whole opposition leadership has sat on the same table and the credit for this goes to the PAT. He said that this consensus has started to bear fruits, adding that if this unity of thought and action continues, the country will be rid of looters, killers and the exploiters. He said that it is his faith that the blood that was shed against the oppressive system will not go to waste.
It was decided to convene the meeting of the Core Committee on daily basis. The meeting of the PAT Central Working Council has also been called on January 13.
The PAT Chairman also held a meeting with a delegation of senior lawyers under the leadership of Malik Inayatullah Awan, vice chairman of Punjab Bar Council. The delegation consisted of Hafiz Nasir Mahmood Awan Advocate, Mian Faiz Ali Advocate, MH Shaheed Advocate, and Yasir Advocate. Central Secretary Information PAT Noorullah Siddiqi was also present on the occasion.
Malik Inayatullah Malik paid rich tributes to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for steadfastly waging a struggle for justice for the families of the martyrs of Model Town tragedy. He said that it is for the first time in the history of the country that brave and faith-filled workers of PAT valiantly took on the powerful class. He said that the publication of Justice Baqir Najfi report is a great achievement of the oppressed families and the PAT. He said that the protest campaign starting from January 17 is for the purpose of justice and the lawyers’ community will continue to stand by the oppressed and the martyrs of Model Town like before.
The leader of the lawyers’ community assured the PAT Chairman of the fact that if the government created hurdles in the way of protest and tried to crush it with the state power, the lawyers will be the first line of defence and face the brute force of the government. He said that if the rulers resorted to traditional practice of registering cases, the lawyers will offer their services to plead on behalf of the PAT. He further said that the elected members of Punjab Bar stand shoulder to shoulder with the PAT lawyers in the quest for justice.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri thanked Malik Inayatullah and his companions for their support and said that the legal fraternity has always stood up for supremacy of justice and upholding of law of the land. He said that no oppressor can usurp the fundamental rights of the people in the presence of the legal community. He said that the elder Sharif has come into the grip of law and the younger Sharif will fall due to the sobbing of the oppressed and that time is not far.
