Pakistan needs institutional input & discipline: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Addressing a special ceremony held in the honour of old Minhajians and bright students of Minhaj University Lahore, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that human beings live as long as they breathe whereas the institutions stay for good. He said that institutions whether they are educational, democratic or that of state are the strong pillars of moral, political, spiritual and economic values of any society. He said that it is due to absence of strong and effective institutions that we continue to face many crises in our national life. He said that powerful educational institutions can provide institutional discipline to Pakistan.
Renowned anchor, social and political personality Ibrar-ul-Haq, poet Zahid Fakhri, cricketer Muhammad Asif, and Registrar FC University Hamid Seed were the guests of honour on the occasion. Prof. Dr. Muhammad Aslam Ghauri, Vice Chancellor MUL, welcomed the guests on their arrival.
In his speech, Ibrar-ul-Haq said that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri gave educational and spiritual institutions to the nation that are providing moral training to the youth. He gathered accolades by singing his renowned sufi kalam. Zahid Fakhri read out his Urdu and Punjabi poetry and was greatly lauded for his poetic finesse.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the complete person is he who provides diet to his physical, spiritual and intellectual life. He said that the requirement of the body is food; of soul is worship and connection with Lord and that of consciousness is acquisition of knowledge. He said that Minhaj University is providing food to three of these lives in a wonderful manner.
Dr Hussain said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri founded the Minhaj University on the concept of blend between knowledge and training. He said that MUL just does not issue degrees to the successful graduates but its purpose is to turn its students into good and productive human beings. He said that the educational institutions will have to play their role in equipping the society with the excellent moral and ethical values. He likened educational institutions to the lap of the mothers and said that we will have to think whether our educational institutions are fulfilling the demand of moral training. He said that the qualified human resource is a true national asset of any country.
Col (r) Muhammad Ahmad, Col (r) Mubashir Iqbal, Madam Romana, Rana Tanvir, Madam Rubina, Madam Rabia Ali, Javed Iqbal, Muhammad Saleem thanked the guests. Those from MQI who attended the ceremony included Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, GM Malik, Fayyaz Warraich, Noorullah Siddiqi, Jawad Hamid, Nasir Iqbal, Shakeel Tahir, Shahzad Rasool, Adnan Javed and Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry.
