PhD & MPhil level research work on life & work of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Scholars around the world are writing their MPhil and PhD theses on the thought, personality, revivalist efforts and ideology of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri as well as Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) that has a network in over 90 countries of the world. A summary of the research work being carried out is given here below:

1. Dr Muhammad Rafique Habib al-Azhari has written his PhD thesis on the subject of “A classical Analysis of the Ideology of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri with Special Reference to Islamic Revivalism’ in University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK.
    
2. Francesco Chiabotti, an Associate Professor of Islamic Studies in National Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations located in Paris, has written his PhD thesis of 750 pages on the subject of “The Posthumous Fortune of the Hadith Reported by Qushayri in the Risala” wherein he extensively quoted the works of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.
    
3. Dr Naeem Anwar Naumani wrote his PhD thesis for the Karachi University on the services of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri in the field of Hadith Sciences.
    
4. An Australian student of Melbourne University was writing his PhD thesis on prevalence of extremism amongst the Muslims. What he wrote was contrary to actual teachings of Islam. By the time he was close to completing his work, “FATWA on Terrorism and Suicide Bombings” authored by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri was launched globally. Upon reading it, the student moved an application to the university in which he stated that what he wrote in his thesis did not depict reality. He sought time of 2 years from the University to re-examine and amend his thesis in the light of the FATWA of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri.
    
5. Dr Fida Hussain Abidi has authored his PhD thesis on “The Scientific Authority of Ahl al-Bayt in the Light of the Qur’an and Sunna” for al-Mustafa University (Qom), Iran. He analyzed the viewpoints of Shia and Ahl al-Sunna especially in the viewpoint of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Dr Tahir al-Qadri that the succession of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) has divided in three kinds: Political Guardianship (wilaya), Religious and Scientific Guardianship, and Spiritual Guardianship.
    
6. Younus Haydari has completed MPhil thesis in Iran on the religious and intellectual efforts of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
    
7. Two PhDs are underway on the renowned books of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on the topic of ‘Seera al-Rasul (pbuh)’ in al-Azhar University. First PhD relates to the subject of ‘miracles’ discussed in volume 9, while the second PhD thesis is based on ‘Muqaddima Seera al-Rasul’ consisting of two volumes.
    
8. Zaka Ullah Abbasi has written his MPhil thesis on the topic of linguistic analysis of first two volumes of ‘Seera al-Rasul (pbuh)’ for Northern University, KPK.
    
9. Muhammad Hussain Azad has completed his MPhil thesis for Minhaj University Lahore on interpretational distinctions of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri.
    
10. An MPhil thesis on the role of women in national politics in the light of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s thoughts has been written in Bahauddin Zakrayria University Multan.
     
11. Another MPhil level thesis has been written on the topic of a comparative analysis of political thoughts of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and Maulana Madoodi at Bahauddin Zakrayia University Multan.
     
12. A student of Bahauddin Zakrayia University, Multan, has written an MPhil thesis on the subject of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s services for promotion of peace at the global level.
     
13. The topic of an MPhil thesis is “Comparative analysis of economic thoughts of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and Javed Ahmad Ghamdi” at Bahauddin Zakrayia University, Multan.
     
14. An MPhil thesis has been written on the topic of “Comparative analysis of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s and Imam Ahmad Raza’s thoughts with regard to revolution of earth” for Bahauddin Zakrayia University, Multan.
     
15. A student of Government College University Lahore has carried out a comparison of book titled Seera al-Rasul (pbuh) written by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri with other books on the same topic for his BS Honours thesis.
     
16. PhD is being done on the management aspect of MQI in Arizona State University, USA.
     
17. Allama Muhammad Ramzan is writing a PhD thesis on the personality and thoughts of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri for Manchester University UK.
     
18. PhD thesis on the comparative study into thoughts of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and Syed Badee-uz-Zaman Noorsi, renowned revolutionary personality of Turkey, on Jihad is underway at Minhaj University Lahore with the collaboration of Noorsi Foundation Turkey.
     
19. An MPhil thesis on the personality and thought of Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri is being written for Chittagong University, Bangladesh.

It is an honour for Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri that so much research work is being done on his personality and ideology in many universities of the world.
