Attacks being launched on love for Ahl-e-Bayt: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
Addressing thousands of the participants of Itikaf City under the banner of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the enemies of the unity within the Muslim Umma are misleading the youth and undermining the Muslim world by initiating purposeless debates. He said that by covering Hazrat Ali (A.S), Hazrat Fatima (S.A), Hazrat Imam Hassan (A.S) and Hazrat Imam Hussain (A.S) in his blanket, the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared them to be members of his family and said that he was leaving behind two things of vital importance: the Holy Quran and his family, Ahl-e-Bayt. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) connected the love and high esteem of his family with the Holy Quran with a view to making it part of ‘Iman’ and declared that there should be no reduction in importance and respect of the Prophet’s family and Hazrat Ali (A.S) is part of Ahl-e-Bayt.
Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri further said that the mischief of determining status between the Companions as to who was higher and who was not, is rearing its head. He said that there is a need to highlight the love of Ahl-e-Bayt today so that ‘thought of khawarij’ could be eradicated. He said that that it is now the responsibility of the religious scholars to crush this mischief before in the bud and protect the Umma from fragmentation.
The PAT Chairman said that it is regrettable that the basis of belief of Ahl-e-Sunnat is being attacked today and love for the Prophet’s family is being dubbed as ‘Shia school of thought’ and to top it all, the confusion is being created in the minds of the people so that they talk reservedly while talking about their love of the Prophet’s household. He said that attacks are being launched imperceptibly to make the love of the Prophet’s family controversial. And meaningless debates are being encouraged by pitting other Companions against the members of the Prophet’s family. He said that it is an act of great oppression and a conspiracy against the unity within various schools of thought in Islam. He said that the people have to stand guard on all such conspiracies and play their role in protecting our relationship with the Companions and Prophet’s family.
