Provision of justice at doorsteps of people is real change: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that whether it is Model Town tragedy or Peshawar APS carnage, the provision of justice is the responsibility of judiciary. He said that the Chief Justice of Pakistan took notices of both tragedies and we hope that he will make sure that justice is delivered to the oppressed under his supervision. He said that consultation with the lawyers continue to challenge the LHC decision of not summoning the Sharif brothers in the Supreme Court.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri made these remarks while presiding over a consultative meeting of the lawyers. Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Noorullah Siddiqi, Naeem-ud-Din Chaudhry Advocate, Ghazanfar Hussain Advocate, Jawad Hamid and others attended the meeting. He said that either the police officers involved in Model Town tragedy churn out truth or be ready for the gallows. He said that those for whom they shed innocent blood will not come to their rescue. They would not even speak words of sympathy for them. Therefore, instead of covering the crimes of their previous masters, they should serve the cause of justice and truth, stand by the oppressed and state the truth.

Dr Qadri said that the officers become slave to their ruling masters and comply with their illegal commands just for economic interests and out-of-turn promotions and this is due to the oppressive system in vogue. He said that culture of sycophancy and corruption can be eliminated through merit. He said that it pains one to see that the children of the martyred children of Army Public School are waiting for justice despite passage of four years, stating that every oppressed person should get justice. He said that no society or country can survive without justice. He said that the biggest problem of the people of this country is injustice and the biggest of changes is that the people are provided justice at their doorstep.

The PAT Chairman said that we have lifted dead bodies of our workers and we can perfectly understand what an injustice is. He said that lack of justice is a great oppression but those responsible for delay cannot be absolved of their responsibility as well. He said that the police, a state department, took the lives of innocent people in Model Town and all those involved in the tragedy should be meted out strictest of the punishment. He said that the government officials should be made to step down from their positions till the verdict of the case so that they are unable to bring their influence to bear on the matter. He said that the Prime Minister has shown his intent in this regard and we hope that it will be translated into reality as well.
