The 8-volume Quranic Encyclopedia launched

Addressing the inaugural ceremony of the Quranic Encyclopedia written by Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri, the distinguished speakers stated that the Holy Quran is the Word of Allah that contains solutions to all the problems facing the humanity. They said that the Encyclopedia, which is comprehensive in nature, is an intellectual treat for those conducting research on Islam as well as those interested in understanding the Divine Book. The people belonging to all walks of life will benefit from its reading in a big way.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri presided over the ceremony, whereas Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar was the chief guest on the occasion. The prominent speakers who shared their views included Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan, Dr Muhammad Ajmal Qadri, Provincial Minister Sayyid Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah, Khawaja Ghulam Qutub-ud-Din Faridi, Dr Farooq Sattar, General (r) Ijaz Awan, Bushra Rehman, Dr Sughra Sadaf, Ms. Sofia Baidar, Orya Maqbool Jan, Qayyum Nizami, Dr Tahir Hameed Tanoli, Sayyid Samsam Ali Shah Bukhari, Maulana Sayyid Abdul Khabir Azad, and Khalid Pervez.

MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur presented the welcome note in which he thanked all the guests for sparing time to attend the inaugural ceremony, whereas renowned poet Sayyid Salman Gillani offered his tributes in the form of poetry.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that knowledge contained in the Holy Quran is very detailed and those who cannot understand it have a problem with their understanding capacity. He said that the Quranic Encyclopedia consists of 8 volumes that have 5000 topics discussed in them. He expressed his gratitude to Allah Almighty Who enabled him to render this great scholarly, intellectual and religious service. He also thanked the leading journalists, religious scholars, Mashaykh, politicians and representative of legal fraternity and political parties for attending the inaugural ceremony of the Encyclopedia.

Punjab Governor Ch. Muhammad Sarwar started his speech by congratulating Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on writing a massive work in the form of the Quranic Encyclopedia. He termed it as a great service to Pakistan, humanity and Islam. He said that he is sure that by reading the Encyclopedia, one will get a lot of facilitation in understanding the meaning of the Holy Quran and the divine message based on love and peace will spread around the world. He said that whosoever studies the Holy Quran with sincerity can neither go astray nor become an extremist.

Congratulating Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri on the publication of the Quranic Encyclopedia, former Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Sardar Attique Ahmed Khan underlined the need of having this Encyclopedia in every household. He said that by reading it, one can easily understand as to what it is that Allah demands of us. He said that he learns from the writings and the speeches of Shaykh-ul-Islam. Provincial Minister for Religious Affairs Sayyid Saeed-ul-Hassan Shah spoke in the Arabic language and shared the Naat verses with the audience.

General (r) Ijaz Awan congratulated Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on authoring the Quranic Encyclopedia. He said that it was a huge service to Islam and Pakistan. He said that the youth is in dire need of knowledge that can guide them along the right path. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s services to bring the Pakistani society on the path of moderation and tolerance are praiseworthy.

Dr Muhammad Ajmal Qadri, the president of Jamiat Ulame-e-Islam, said in his speech that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri promoted the knowledge of the Holy Quran and Hadith and this scholarly and intellectual effort is an asset of the Islamic world. He requested Dr Qadri to undertake a similar work on Hadith as well.

Dr Farid Paracha, Deputy Secretary General of Jamat-i-Islami, paid rich tributes to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on his scholarly and research work and said that the Quranic teachings provide the basis to unify the Islamic world.

Khawaja Ghulam Qutub-ud-Din Faridi also congratulated Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on accomplishing such a great piece of work on the Quranic sciences and said that the people of Pakistan and the Islamic world were in acute need of such a work. He said that the Encyclopedia has made the understanding of the Quran easy.

Senior MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar said that the Quranic Encyclopedia will bind the whole nation into one thread. He said that by giving Fatwa against terrorism and suicide bombing, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri unmasked the faces of terrorists and their sympathizers earlier and now by authoring this Encyclopedia, he has exposed the so-called religious people.

Orya Maqbool Jan said in his speech that Allah chooses people to render a service to the Holy Quran. He said that we should benefit from the Encyclopedia in order to understand the message of our Creator. The head Imam of Badshahi Mosque, Allama Abdul Khabir Azad said that the publication of the Quranic Encyclopedia has met the need of the whole Muslim community. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is an asset of the Islamic world.

Renowned journalist Qayyum Nizami congratulated Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on the publication of the Encyclopedia and said that the Quaid-e-Azam advised the nation to work, work and only work. He stated that Dr Qadri is a practical manifestation of the hard work. Khawaja Moin-ud-Din Mahboob Koreja, Sajjada Nasheen of Kot Mitthan Shareef, said that the personalities like Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri are born in centuries and the scope of their knowledge also cover centuries.

Renowned writer, journalist and poetess Ms. Bushra Rehman paid glowing tributes to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and the MQI for promoting the peaceful message of Islam around the world. She said that the writings of Dr Qadri open up the closed corners of the mind and connect us with Allah and His Prophet (pbuh). Senior PTI leader Sayyid Samsaam Shah Bukhari also congratulated Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri and appreciated the MQI for its amazing work in promoting soft image of Islam at a time when it is dire need of the hour.

Dr Ghazala Hassan Qadri, President of MQI Women League while speaking on the occasion said that the Holy Quran is the book of wisdom and offers solution to the diverse problems that man is facing in this day and age of materialism. She said that the Quran is a source of guidance till the Day of Judgment. She termed the scholarly contribution of Dr Qadri in the form of the Encyclopedia as a mammoth research effort.

Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President MQI Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, Brig. (r) Iqbal Ahmad Khan, former CM Punjab Mian Afzal Hayat, MPA Punjab Khadija Umar Farooqi, Barrister Amir Hassan, Sayyid Ahmad Iqbal Rizvi, and Mufti Abdul Qavi also attended the ceremony. Khawaja Dewan Ahmad Masood Chishti led the concluding Dua.
