Those who martyred innocent people are talking of police brutality: Khurram Nawaz Gandapur

Responding to the statement of PML-N leader Hamza Shahbaz’s statement in which he condemned the police for torture on his workers, PAT Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur has asked him as to why he was silent when the police inflicted brutality on the innocent workers on June 17, 2014, fired live bullets at them, shot 14 people including two ladies, broke bones of the elderly, severely baton-charged the people and turned the whole of Model Town into a war zone. He said that both PMLN’s president and his son used the police force like Hitler’s to brutalise and kill his political opponents, asking as to why those who set this tradition of violence and brutality are making hue and cry. He said that what they have faced so far is nothing, they have yet to have verdicts in the references of loot and massacre. He said that what the world watched on their TV screens live on June 17 fitted into the description of violence. He said that Hamza’s father even deprived the aggrieved of their right to file an FIR. He said that the Opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly and his father, who is jail on corruption allegations, perpetrated a reign of terror and plunder of resources for ten long years, stating that it is ‘payback’ time and they should not fear it. He said that the paid workers who raise slogans in favor of the corrupt leaders deserve to be taken to task. He said that the police has been showing lenient attitude to the former rulers and they have yet to be treated in a manner they treated their political opponents. He said that it is high time the Sharif family answered for the oppression they committed on others.
