Quranic Encyclopedia launched in Karachi
The launching ceremony of newly published Quranic Encyclopedia compiled by Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was held in Sindh Boy Scouts Auditorium Karachi. Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, President of the MQI, presided over the ceremony, whereas the distinguished guests on the occasion included Dr Farooq Sattar, Dr Miraj-ul-Huda, Aslam Mujahid, Agha Raza Baqri, Kalpana Devi Advocate, Qazi Zahid Hussain, Prof Khayal Afaaqi, Bishop Khadim Bhutto, Sheikh Salah-ud-Din, Pir Agha Fazal-ur-Rehman Mujaddadi, Allama Ijaz Mustafa, Mazhar Mahmood Alvi, Naeem Ansari,Sohail Ahmad Raza, writers, leaders, showbiz personalities, and local notables.
Addressing the ceremony, Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the Quranic Encyclopedia is the top-notch scholarly work of the present century which is the result of Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri’s deep study of the Holy Quran over the last fifty years. He said that the Holy Quran is a source of salvation and success till the Day of Judgment, stating that the Encyclopedia contains as many as 5000 topics on all facets of human life. He said that it is not just requirement of every household but of every institution for guidance in all walks of life. He said that with the help of the Encyclopedia, we can easily understand the old and the current problems in the realms of economy, politics, society, and scientific discoveries in terms of their relationship with the religion. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has brought the common man closer to understand the eternal wisdom contained in the Divine Book by compiling the Quranic Encyclopedia.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that the excellence of humanity lies in understanding the Quran, whereas its fall lies in staying away from the Divine Word. He said that the Quran is a code of law and nature for humanity till the Day of Judgment.
Farooq Sattar, while speaking on the occasion, conveyed congratulations to Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri on compiling such an amazing work on the Holy Quran on behalf of the people of Karachi. He said that the fact that the inaugural ceremony of the Quranic Encyclopedia is taking place is in Karachi is a matter of great honour for the people of Sindh. He said that answers to the questions about the Quranic subjects lie in the Encyclopedia, not Google. He said that the books written by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri cover all subjects. He said that the Chairman PAT has presented a moderate and peaceful face of Islam to the world through his writings and speeches. He said that he has very cogently put forward the case of Islam by reminding the world that Islam has nothing to do with terrorism and extremism.
Dr Miraj-ul-Huda, former Amir of Jamat-i-Islami Sindh, said in his speech that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri has performed an amazing feat of protecting the faith of the modern day youth through his scholarly work, books and a treasure of speeches. He said that the Quranic Encyclopedia is the continuation of efforts to save the youth from the path of moral degeneration, extremism and terrorism.
Director of Khana-e-Farhang, Iran, Raza Baqi also addressed the gathering and said that the Quranic Encyclopedia is a huge blessing of the present century. He said that the services of a scholar such as Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri are a beacon of light for the world of Islam. Hujja-tul-Islam Salah-ud-Din, the student of Imam Khomeini, said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is a great advocate for unity among different Islamic schools of thought. He said that the world is amazed at the range and depth of the scholarly work done by Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri. He said that such scholars of the highest order are born among the blessed nations after centuries. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is a pride of the whole Muslim world.
Prof Khayal Afaqi, Pir Fazal-ur-Rehman Mujadadi, and Allama Ijaz Mustafa said in their speeches that over 20,000 copies of the Quranic Encyclopedia have been sold in two months despite being this in 8 volumes, whereas hundreds of thousands orders have been placed. He said that sale of the Encyclopedia at such a massive scale is historic, stating that it is an addition to the existing body of knowledge on the Holy Quran. They said that the Quranic Encyclopedia will guide the youth by quenching their thirst of knowledge. It will also be an antidote to extremism. They said that there is a dire need of the hour that the books of Dr Qadri are included in the syllabi so that the objective of a moderate and enlightened society could be achieved.
