Government should support rain-affected people: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri
PAT Chairman Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his heartfelt sympathies on the loss of precious lives and damage to the property as a result of heavy rainfall across the country. He said that according to the media reports, 25 people died in rain-related incidents and many more were injured. He said that the aggrieved families deserve to be supported at the level of the government. He also directed the Minhaj Welfare Foundation to extend its help to the victims wherever possible. He said that the government should order provision of the best medical facilities to the injured. He said that the situation appears to be grim in Balochistan where floodwater has been devouring everything coming in its way and there are reports of some people disappearing in the rains. He said that the administration of the concerned districts should proactively take care of the rescue and rehabilitation efforts. He said that the government should support all those households whose properties and crops have been damaged. He said that a separate fund should be set up for this purpose. He said that the principle of the State of Madina was that the weak and poor were not left helpless.
