Death anniversary of Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani observed
A conference was held at the central secretariat of Minhaj-ul-Quran International (MQI) on the topic of 'Role of the Sufis in the establishment of a moderate society' to mark the death anniversary of Hazrat Pir Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (R.A), the spiritual patron of MQI. Sayyid Ahmad Noor-ud-Din Gillani al-Qadri presided over the conference.
Addressing the program, MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that the Sufis taught their followers moderation and tolerance and educated them about the love of humanity. He said that Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani was of Arab origin but he came to Pakistan for the service of humanity in line with the practice of his forefathers and continued spreading spiritualism, knowledge, and love here in this country. He said that Huzoor Pir sahib is the spiritual patron of MQI and his teachings and blessings are enlightening the world in the form of the work of MQI. He said that he was among the beloved people of Allah Almighty.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that if we understand the teachings of the Sufis, scourges such as narrow-mindedness, lawlessness and social chaos that are found in our society today can be eradicated. He said that it is dire need of the hour that the teachings of the Sufis should be promoted far and wide for the elimination of terrorism and the establishment of peace. He said that the lives of the Sufis were dedicated to the service of humanity, promotion of religious values of love and inclusion and reform of the society.
The proceedings of the conference got underway with the recitation from the Holy Quran. The world-renowned Naat khawans namely Akhtar Hussain Qureshi, Zaheer Bilali, Ali Haider, Ali Raza Babar, and Mohi-ud-Din Babar had the honor to recite Naat. Director Public Relations MQI Shahzad Rasool Qadri, Rashid Hameed Kalyami, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Hafiz Allama Abid Bashir Qadri, Sohail Ahmad Raza, and Saqib Bhatti conducted the proceedings of the conference. Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi, Prof Allama Noor Ahmad Noor, Director MQI Canada Sayyid Altaf Gillani, Jawad Hamid, Noorullah Siddiqui, Raja Zahid Mahmood and other leaders and a large number of workers attended the program.
Khurram Nawaz Gandapur said that Sayyiduna Tahir Allauddin Al-Qadri Al-Gillani (R.A) was a great Sufi-saint of his times who provided many people with enlightenment and spiritual guidance. He said that Pir sahib promoted the universal message of Islam based on peace, moderation, friendship, and love.
Shahzad Rasool Qadri, Hafiz Abid Bashir, and Dr Mumtaz-ul-Hassan Barvi threw light on the life and teachings of Hazoor Pir sahib including his love and special attachment with MQI and its workers. They impressed upon followers of Pir shaib and workers of MQI to enrich their lives with the teachings of the great spiritual saint.
