The Holy Quran is the basis of all sciences: Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Addressing a seminar in Karachi University on the topic of the Quran and the Modern Age, Chairman MQI Supreme Council has said the way the Divine Book fulfilled the social, political, economic and scientific demands of 14 centuries ago, the imperatives of the 21st century are being addressed by it as well. He said the blessings of the Holy Quran will continue to enlighten humanity till the Day of Judgment. He said the Holy Quran has furnished guidance to humankind on the issues they are likely to face till the Day of Reckoning. He said the Quran is the Word of Allah, stating that entertaining a doubt about it is a sign of being astray. He said the scholars of the Holy Quran and the believers do not make this claim solely on the basis of rationality and creed. Rather, the Holy Quran stated these facts and contemporary science continues to endorse these claims one after the other. He said as soon as the human mind will keep on broadening its horizon, it will continue to grasp the pearls of knowledge and everlasting wisdom contained in the Holy Book.
Department of Islamic Learning of the Karachi University thanked Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri for accepting their request for visiting the campus and delivering an enlightening talk on the subject of the Quranic sciences. Dr Hassan was given an honorary shield as a mark of gratitude. A special bookshelf containing the books of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri was inaugurated on the occasion as a mark of tribute to the scholarly services of Dr Qadri.
In his address, Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said the Holy Quran has provided guidance in the disciplines of psychology, linguistics, botany, zoology, biology, intellect, philosophy, spiritualism, and other matters in addition to the scientific knowledge. He said research in the field of the Quranic sciences has been taking place since the last 14 centuries, something that will continue till the Day of Judgment. He added in the same breath that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has advanced the scholarly tradition of the erstwhile scholars by compiling the Quranic Encyclopedia that comprises 8000 pages and more than 5000 subjects. He said a person of average intellect can benefit from the Encyclopedia and easily understand what Allah Almighty wants from His subjects in terms of compliance and obedience.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said the Holy Quran is the source of all sciences and knowledge. He said there is no knowledge in the world which is not derived from the text of the Holy Book. He said there is no branch of knowledge in terms of religious sciences, creed, prophethood, destiny, the Day of Judgment, rights, and duties, and the formation of heaven and earth that has not been explained by the Quran. He said whosoever will ponder over the text of the Holy Book, the reality of life and secrets of nature will reveal themselves to him with the result that he will be ushered into a new world of understanding and knowledge.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri is inaugurating a special book shelf in the University Library in recognition of the academic services of Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri in the Islamic Learning Department of Karachi University.
