Politics be separated from lethal Coronavirus: Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri

MQI founding leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that it was proposed during the early days of Covid-19 that the curfew-like lockdown could save hundreds of thousands of human lives. He said that the absence of timely and correct decisions has led to the growth of the infections in the country so much so that over 70,000 people have been infected.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the federal and the provincial governments should adopt a uniform set of actions to deal with the coronavirus, suggesting that the politics should be kept separate from the pandemic as it was the matter of human lives. He said the real number of those infected by the virus is far greater than is being acknowledged. He said the government's testing capacity remains limited.

Dr Qadri said that the difference between cities and villages has been eliminated so far as the spread of Covid-19 is concerned. He said every household and individual is duty-bound to take care of themselves. He said the government and the people have their complementary set of responsibilities. He further said that unless the vaccine of the virus is made available, observing precautions is the only way forward till then. He said the virus is lethal and should be taken seriously.

MQI leader said the educational institutions and offices of MQI are not being made functional. He said he has passed on the directions of exercising utmost caution. He said MQI has taken steps to continue its educational, spiritual, and moral programs by using technology.

Dr Qadri prayed to Allah Almighty to rid humanity of the scourge of the virus. He further reminded the people as well as the workers not to be oblivious to the need of remembering our Lord, stating that we should offer our regular prayers and make the recitation of the Holy Quran part of our daily routine. He said we should seek forgiveness of Allah.
