Respect for human rights is a guarantee for sustainable peace: Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri, president of Minhaj-ul-Quran International, has said that the survival, stability, and prosperity of the world depend upon the establishment of sustainable peace in the world.
In a statement that marked the World Peace Day, Dr Hussain said that respecting each other’s political, religious, geographical, and basic human rights guarantees sustainable peace. He said Islam declares establishing peace as its first priority for promoting international brotherhood and calls for the protection of life, honour and property of all irrespective of their caste, colour and creed.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the Madina Pact set a precedent to be followed. He said Islam prescribes severe punishment for those who cause anarchy in the social order. He said Minhaj-ul-Quran International is striving to promote, knowledge, peace, moderation, and inter-faith tolerance in light of the Quranic principles and teachings. He said that those associated with MQI are considered as promoters of peace and tolerance across the world.
Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that the role played by the Minhaj-ul-Quran International has paved the way for interfaith dialogue. He said the School of Peace established at the Minhaj University Lahore is a great research center for comparative study of different religions where students are studying religious sciences and their history. The School is an admirable effort for the promotion of interfaith tolerance, he concluded.
