Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri's special message on the Quaid-i-Azam's birth anniversary

MQI founding leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that the Quaid-i-Azam was an influential and mesmerizing personality due to the strength of the character and truthfulness. He said that knowledgeable people are aware of the fact that the Quaid was an advocate of Islamic thought. He never adopted any apologetic attitude when it came to expressing Islamic beliefs. He had a clarity of thought about the Islamic system of politics, economics, and society without any tinge of ambiguity.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri stated this on the occasion of the 145th birth anniversary of Pakistan's founding father that is being celebrated across Pakistan today (December 25). He recalled how Lord Mountbatten once gave the example of King Akbar as a paragon of tolerance and a role model to follow in terms of treatment with non-Muslims.

The Quaid-i-Azam, Dr Qadri said, was quick to correct Mountbatten when he said that Muslims did not need to learn tolerance from Akbar. Their Prophet (pbuh) had taught them about these teachings 1400 years ago. He reminded the Viceroy of how the Holy Prophet (pbuh) treated Christians and Jews despite conquering them.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that Pakistan's founding father referred to a splendid lesson from Islamic history when he mentioned that Muslims respected human rights whatever areas they conquered.

Meanwhile, Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri extended his warmest congratulations to members of the Christian community on the festive occasion of Christmas and expressed his best wishes for them. He said that love and peace are the convergences in Islam and Christianity. He said that we all should endeavor to make this world the hub of peace and tolerance by working together in pursuit of our shared objectives.
