Hazrat Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) is the Imam of truth: Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri

Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has said that Hazrat Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) raised the banner of truth and resistance against the tyrannical rule of Yazid, his ridicule of Islamic teachings and perpetration of terrorism and barbarism. He said that the great Imam (alayhis-salam) offered the supreme sacrifice of his life in the history of mankind but laid down the crucial principle that the sacrifice of one's life or family does not matter for as long as the truth can neither be bent nor compromised. He said that Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) is the Imam (leader) of truth and the sacrifices offered and blood shed at the plains of Karbala have drawn a clear and indelible line between the forces of truth and those of the falsehood till the Day of Judgment.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that every member of the Islamic world should keep praying to Allah for His and His holy Prophet's (pbuh) pleasure that He may enlighten our hearts with the love of the love of the Prophet's family. He said that those who consider the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (alayhis-salam) merely as a commonplace murder should keep in mind the sayings of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in which he (pbuh) said: "Hussain is from me and I am from him. May Allah love those who love Hussain." At another place, the beloved Prophet (pbuh) said: "Whoever loves Hassan and Hussain loves me; whoever hates them, hates me."

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri said that the kind of treatment meted out to the family members of the Holy Prophet (pbuh) in Karbala makes it abundantly clear that the matter was not just related to the killing of a human being that it might be regarded as something forbidden and heinous; rather the issue relates to hurting the person of the Holy Prophet (pbuh). He said that the verses of the Holy Qur’an establish this fact categorically that he who hurts the holy Prophet (pbuh) gets out of the fold of Islam and becomes a disbeliever straightaway by virtue of his act.

Dr Qadri said that Allah Almighty has described the Prophet's family innocent and free of every kind of sin in the Holy Qur’an and whosoever bears any ill will or grudge against them becomes deprived of the wealth of faith.
