Former PM Raja Pervez Ashraf calls on Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Former Prime Minister and senior PPP leader Raja Pervez Ashraf called on Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri at his residence in Model Town, Lahore. The PPP delegation consisted of Barrister Amir Hassan and MPA Syed Hassan Murtaza. MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur, Raja Zahid Mahmood, Noorullah Siddiqui and other leaders were present on the occasion.
The PPP delegation visited Jame' Shaykh-ul-Islam (Shaykh-ul-Islam Mosque), Farid-e-Millat Research Institute, Gosha-e-Durood and different directorates of MQI Secretariat. They also offered Fateha at the Martyrs' Memorial and prayed for the departed souls of the martyrs.
Speaking on the occasion, former PM Raja Pervez Sharif paid rich tributes to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri for his marvelous contributions to the promotion of peace, love and interfaith dialogue in the world, which he said constituted the essence of Islam. He said that MQI is serving humanity without any discrimination throughout the world. He said that he is greatly impressed by the services of Shaykh-ul-Islam in fighting the scourge of extremism and promoting enlightenment and knowledge of Islam.
Barrister Amir Hassan, while speaking on the occasion, stated that Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and MQI are making significant contributions to spread the message of Islam in the world. He said that Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri is distinguished religious scholar and leading authority on Islam at the moment whose services in multiple fields are worthy of respect and emulation.
The PPP delegation also called on MQI Secretary General Khurram Nawaz Gandapur in the central secretariat and exchanged views on the prevailing situation in the country.
