MQI Lahore to participate in protest demonstration on June 17

The Executive Council of MQI Lahore chapter has decided to take full part in the protest demonstrations to be held on June 17 in front of Lahore Press Club. President MQI Lahore Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri has constituted committees in this regard.

A meeting in this regard was held at the central secretariat with Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri in the chair. It was attended by Tehsil and district office holders including Mian Mumtaz Hussain, General Secretary. Detailed consultation was held for the eightieth anniversary of Model Town tragedy, membership drive, and ongoing lecture series.

Expressing his views on the occasion, Rana Nafees Hussain Qadri said that we are deeply sad that justice has not been provided to the family members of Model Town tragedy despite the passage of the eight years. He said that it is our collective appeal to the Chief Justices of Supreme Court and Lahore High Court to take suo moto notice of the matter and get the process of justice expedited.

Prof Zulifqar Ali, Capt (r ) Abdul Majeed, Amjad Hussain, Haji Muhammad Amjad, Dr Qasim Muhammad, Ghulam Shabbir Jami, Rana Ateeq and others attended the meeting.
