Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri directs PAT, MQI, MWF to start relief operations

MQI founding-leader Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri has expressed his deep sense of grief and sorrow on the loss of precious lives and ravages caused by the flash floods and torrential rains across the country. He issued immediate instructions to Minhaj Welfare Foundation, MQI and PAT workers to take active part in rescue and relief operations for the flood affectees. He also asked the overseas chapters of the party to collect funds under the banner of Minhaj Welfare Foundation so that immediate assistance could be delivered to the people facing the worst calamity in history.

Shaykh-ul-Islam said that the country has experienced unprecedented rainfall, which led to the flash floods across Balochistan, Sindh, South Punjab and now KP. He said that the provincial governments and their departments should redirect all resources toward the relief and rescue of the people. He quoted a Hadith in which the Holy Prophet (SAW) likened Muslims to a body where the pain in one part of the body is felt by other organs. He said that we should feel the pain of our compatriots and employ all resources to provide relief to the flood stricken people.

Dr Tahir-ul-Qadri also prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed souls in peace and grant courage and fortitude to the bereaved families to bear the irreparable loss of their loved ones.
