Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (R.A) was a great ruler of Islam: Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri
Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr. Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri has said that every aspect of the life of the first Caliph of Islam, Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA), is a beacon of light for Muslims. He said that the entire ruling period of Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) was marked by truth, tolerance and justice. He said that his reign will continue to serve as a model for the governments around the world due to its comprehensive qualities. He said that there's a need to take a leaf from the rulebook of the first Caliph of Islam in order to get the country out of the existing challenges and put it on the path to progress and prosperity.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri said that Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) ran the government with discipline and excellent management during the short period of his Caliphate. He gave the public office to the people on the basis of merit and appointed governors and rulers of every district and province. He said that one thing that the first Caliph of Islam would look into the potential public office holder was their competence, adding this defined his choice of the people to fill in the key positions in the government.
Chairman MQI said that Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) never allowed tribal affiliations or nepotism to interfere with his decision making. He said that it was because of this high standard and lofty principles that the people appointed to top positions produced their best performance and used their capabilities to spread the message of Islam.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri further said that the objective of a government based on justice is the service of the people. He said that the government treasury is meant for ensuring public welfare, provision of services and prosperity. He said that the manifesto, which Hazrat Sayyiduna Abu Bakr Siddiq (RA) announced at the time of taking over the government, he remained true to it in letter and spirit during the whole period of his government. He said that the services rendered by the first Caliph of Islam form a bright chapter in the history of great religion. As a ruler, he was selfless, just and dedicated to the dispensation of justice over and above his likes and dislikes.
Dr Hassan said that we should study the lives of our rightly guided Caliphs to understand their philosophy and governance style as well as their lives.
