Internationally renowned umpire Aleem Dar visits MUL & MQI secretariat
On the invitation of Public Relations Department, internationally renowned cricket umpire Aleem Dar visited the central secretariat of MQI and Minhaj University Lahore where he held meetings with Chairman MQI Supreme Council Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri and VC MUL Dr Sajid Mahmood Shahzad. He was accompanied by former PCB manager Azhar Zaidi, umpire Zameer Haider and business person Mahmood Butt.
Aleem Dar visited different departments and faculties of MUL and expressed his satisfaction on the fact that this institution imparts education as well as focuses on character building of the students. “I am happy to witness how the University is reviving the cultural, academic and moral teachings of our forefathers,” he added.
Aleem Dar congratulated deputy chairman Board of Governors MUL Prof Dr Hussain Mohi-ud-Din Qadri on the provision of excellent educational facilities. In his meeting with the former, the internationally renowned umpire paid tribute to Shaykh-ul-Islam Dr Muhammad Tahir-ul-Qadri and said that he is a true ambassador of Islam, adding that the manner in which MQI is intellectually training the youth is an example unto itself.
Dr Hassan Mohi-ud-Din Qadri congratulated Aleem Dar on setting up the Aleem Dar Foundation that helps the Thalassemia patients.
The delegation visited Orphan Care Home, FMRI, central media cell, social media department, Foreign Affairs department, Gosha-e-Durood and Sale Centre.
Senior MQI leaders warmly received Aleem Dar and his colleagues at the central secretariat and Minhaj University Lahore. They also inspected a mobile hospital that operates under Minhaj Welfare Foundation. Rana Nafees Qadri briefed the guests about the mobile hospital. Aleem Dar offered condolences to Shakeel Ahmad Tahir and Noorullah Siddiqui over the death of their mother and father respectively and made Dua for the departed souls.
Dr Sajid Mahmood Shahzad, Dr Khurram Shahzad, Col. (r ) Mubashir Iqbal, GM Malik, Muhammad Farooq Rana, Jawwad Hamid, Haji Muhammad Ishaq, Abdul Hafeez Chaudhry, Abid Bashir and Shahbaz Tahir were also present on the occasion.
