Sports vital to inculcating sportsman spirit among students: Col. (r ) Mobashar Iqbal
The hockey team of Aagosh Orphan Care Home defeated Allama Iqbal hockey team by 2-0 goal in a friendly football match. Khawaja Junaid, former national coach of Pakistan hockey team, Noorullah Siddiqui, Director Orphan Care Home Col (r ) Mobashar Iqbal, Minhaj Welfare Foundation (UK) leaders Owais Noor, Muzzamal Rafique, Zain Shabbir, Syed Waseem Ibrar, Kainayat Ashraf, Sabeen Altaf, and Shabrina Hafeez saw the match, which was held at the hockey ground in Johar Town, Lahore.
The guests lauded both the teams for playing a competitive match and entertaining the spectators. They also distributed prizes among the players of the winning team. Col. (r ) Mobashar Iqbal extended his special greetings to Muhammad Ramzan, coach of Orphan Care Home and said that only a healthy body can have a healthy mind. He said that only fit and healthy youth are capable of ensuring their well-being and progress of the nation. He said it is of utmost importance that the youths are connected to the sports.
Director Orphan Care Home said that the sports are given the highest priority at Aagosh so that the students are fit and healthy, fully ready to immerse themselves in the pursuit of knowledge. He said that the sports impart important lessons to the students by creating in them sportsman spirit, tolerance and patience. “By encouraging students to take to sporting activities, we aim to make students disciplined,” he concluded.
