Three-day teachers’ training workshop under MES concludes
A three-day teachers’ training workshop held under the banner of Minhaj Education Society came to an end. Educationists and qualified trainers delivered lectures in the workshop to increase the technical competence of the teachers and equip them with the state-of-the-art tools of teaching. Hundreds of teachers, vice principals and principals from across the country attended the workshop.
Director Minhaj Education Society Shoaib Tahir spoke to the participants in the concluding session of the workshop and said that the purpose of holding the workshop was to brush up the teaching capability of the teachers. He said that Minhaj Education Society has been regularly holding such workshops to develop the capacity of its teaching staff.
Renowned motivational speaker Dr Javed Iqbal said that the teachers play a leading role in shaping the social values and educational approaches of a society. He said that a teacher is not only a source of knowledge but also a role model for his students. He said that it is important for a teacher to become truly influential, that he has expertise in his area of teaching and is aware of the need for periodic reinforcements and capacity building. He said that the quality of instruction imparted by the teachers enables the students to deal with the challenges of the future.
Renowned educationist and trainer Humaira Bhutto said that it is the training that sharpens our skill set and builds our capacity. She said that if a society is characterized by such values as peace, honesty and progress, then it means that the teachers of such a society are fulfilling their responsibility.
Dr Afeefa Khanim, renowned educationist and the head of the department of education at the Lahore College for Women University, also addressed the concluding session of the workshop and said that a successful and professionally sound teacher imparts a lesson in how to live a purposeful life. “The teachers are architects of nations and the builders of societies,” she said.
Engineer Muhammad Rafique Najam, Waseem Anwar Chaudhry, Hafiz Niaz Ahmad, Irshad Tahir, and others also spoke at the workshop. The certificates were distributed among the teachers at the end of the ceremony.
